Paradise, plain and simple!
Generous accommodation and even more generous hosts. Everyone at the property , other guests included, was sociable and very friendly. Pierre is obviously concerned with the comfort of his guests and extremely helpful. The room /suite was secluded and well designed. Outlets are plentiful, and although the internet connection can be spotty at the top of the hill (a bit far away from the access points) you can’t beat the view of the lake...Stunning. And what better excuse to head down to the dock, stare out at the water, and meet some of your neighbors. Travel to surrounding towns by taxi or lancha is fun and simple, and hammocks abound. |

"The most beautifull place at Lake atitlan"
We stayed a few weeks at this beautifull property in a very nice and clean bungalow. The service was great, all the facilities listed were provided. The owner was very friendly and all the staff including him were very, very helpfull and hospitable. Nothing was missing. The weather was sunny and warm. We hope we can come back soon to lake atitlan and stay again at Pasajcap, but next time longer! Thank you for making our vacation special! Veli and Michael |

"You Will Never Want To Leave"
We actually stayed for three months; some people have stayed for 18 months. Every morning you wake to the magnificent view of two dormant volcanooes across from a beautiful lake. All of the apartments face the lake and are very private, very clean, very well maintained and comfortable. We found the staff to be attentive, capable and pleasant. Pierre and ashka, your hosts, seem to work 24 hours a day and getting to know them was a highlight of our stay. You can travel by boat to the many towns that surround the lake . The cost is minimal. Walk in to San Marcos in 15 minutes and find all you need if you cook or go to the many very good restaurants. San Marcos is a well known center for yoga, meditation and Mayan culture. The apartments are on a hillside so be prepared to climb steps and allow yourself a few days to adapt to the altitude. Occasional Bbqs allow you to meet the other guests. They were one of the many highlights ot this vacation. Don't forget to ask Pierre and ashka about a trip around Guatemala with Chema. |

"An affordable luxury"
We have travelled a lot, stayed in many places rentals, hotels, guest houses, and we have never been so happy. Pasajcap is an amazing property, safe and a very unique place with a special ambience. It is peaceful and it felt secluded although everything is just a short boat ride or walk away. The property has its own private boat dock so it is easy to get away and travel around the lake. It is very accessible. The landscape of this extensive property is also beautiful with stone paths and staircase (well lit at night!), colorful plants and flowers everywhere and fruit trees. It is all well kept and clean. There is a sauna, outdoor spaces for every apartment (private), BBQ areas (frequently used for getting together with the other guests), there is a dock to swim off and you can buy the wine, meat and fish at the property. Our apartment (called "Copacabana") was great with a gorgeous view on volcanoes. There is nothing quite like waking up to the breathtaking view of Lake atitlan! It was everything and more from what we saw on the website pictures. The layout is open and airy with good use of natural light. The architecture is remarkable with the perfect mix of stone, wood and glass with the quality finish and a great attention to details. The concept is functionality, modern style and privacy. It is smartly furnished with beautiful wood furniture. The house has electric outlets almost in every wall. The kitchen was fully stacked with selection of good quality cook wear, crockery and cutlery. It had everything necessary to cook (we prepared our dinners almost every night). It is definitely a very safe place to be with kids. We did not have children with us but we have seen other guests’ kids running and playing freely around the property. The staff would take care of the details like to cover the electrical outlets to “child-proof” the place…. Amazingly thoughtful! Pierre and his lovely staff are very friendly, accommodating and discreet. We have extended our stay and will be back the next year! |

I have stayed here for 7 and 8 months for the past 2 years and I return again soon. The place is amazing. The views are breathtaking, staff very helpful and the owner is so very gracious. If you love fresh water lake swimming, kayaking and hiking then this ticks all the boxes. If you love swinging in a hammock and reading a book then again it ticks all the boxes. The premises has road and lake access and each apartment has a dedicated rancho with power and barbecue outside so you can enjoy some outdoor catering. Use the sauna in the evening and then dive into the lake to cool off. Add to all of that a great surrounding area with terrific places to eat and you have it all. Just be prepared to endure the pain of leaving! This review may sound over the top but really just go to Pasajcap and see for yourself.

Pasajcap is THE place to be away from it all. It’s spiritual retreat where you can stop the time and find yourself. The environment is healthy and clean. The views are gorgeous and so peaceful. The house is very comfortable and is well equipped. The house has electric outlets almost in every wall. The concept of the house is functionality, modern style, good use of natural light and extremely well lit at night. Here the privacy and safety are the main elements. The community of passenger at Pasajcap is great and the service is definitely excellent. You won’t regret it. Exceptional friendly environment. Affordable luxury apartment with access to common areas. Great for kids.
This is very unique place with a very special ambience. It is also very safe and our kids roamed freely on the property. We greatly appreciate this opportunity to get away from it all. We recommend this experience to everyone looking for a peaceful place that facilitates a close encounter with nature and people from the nearby villages. Pierre is extremely friendly and caring. He’s built an amazing community where like minded people can share and feel at home. Thanks for the amazing hospitality.

When booking this property, I kept thinking the pictures were to good to be true--and I found that this apartment was better than imagined. My husband and I stayed for 1 week and would like to return as soon as we can for a longer stay. The staff, owner and fellow guests all made us feel very welcomed. We felt and appreciated that the property is special.
There is a short walk into San Marcos where we took Spanish lessons in the morning and convenient launches to visit the other villages around Lake Atitlan. We enjoyed going into San Pedro for their markets and restaurants and Hiking from San Juan to The Nose.

Domingo, Diego and Andres were all pleasant and accommodating. The grounds were well tended to and I enjoyed speaking with Domingo and Diego about the projects they were working on. (My former job was in the construction industry). The apartment was well appointed and well tended to. The view, of course speaks for itself. Our time in and around the lake was as expected. We were actually here deciding if San Marcos would be our new home- we have decided it will be. So we will be back and most likely will be reaching out to you regarding temporary housing. It's all true!
We agree with the all other guests' positive comments about Pasajcap. Our family came expecting a month of rest and peace, and we were not disappointed. The facility and grounds are stunningly beautiful, the staff was more than helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, and the view is breathtaking and awe-inspiring. Pierre and Aska's hospitality was reflected in the kindness of the other guests. We met people from France, Poland, Germany, Spain, England, Canada, and the United States, and received many tips and helpful suggestions that made our stay most enjoyable.
We loved the tranquility and stillness of Pasajcap, as well as the convenient access to San Marcos (which has almost all the groceries we needed) and other towns around the lake. This vacation was ideal for our family in so many ways...listening to the waves and birds; talking with the neighbors, hosts, and staff; petting the dogs; sitting in the hammocks; reading; watching the lake in its ever changing myriad of colors; kayaking; climbing a volcano; riding boats; washing our laundry by hand; hiking to different towns; riding tuk-tuks; and the daily swims in the lake.
We recommend Pasajcap to anyone who loves serenity, beautiful scenery, and meeting people from around the world. We can't wait to come back!
Thank you again for making this the best summer of our lives so far! |

Our month long stay at Pasajcap was outstanding.
The courteous and helpful staff was always present to attend to anything in the apartment or on the ground which are immaculately kept. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen for cooking. They are kept clean by a cleaning staff and are safe. We felt completely at ease being here with our 20 months old. The minimalistic style was safe for him to explore and thoughtful staff even covered the electrical outlets to “child-proof” the place. The Domingo and and Diego were always attentive.
Traveling by public boat around the lake was easy since ther3e is a dock on the property. San Marcos is easily accessible by walking. The internet access and capacity was perhaps the only issue we encountered since there were blockouts and a spotty connection but that was mainly due to poor satellite connection and the rain.
Overall we had a great experience – Pierre runs a good business being honest and upfront from the start to the finish. |

The apartments are smartly furnished with beautiful wood furniture. The layout is open and airy and feels like a second home as soon as you enter. The actual apartment/ loft was better in person then the website photos.
The views from the huge windows are breathtaking. It is the first thing I do every morning. I like to sit in the hammock and watch life on the lake as it happens. The location of the property is far away from the hustle but close enough so if you want to party – it is very accessible. I loved it. |

Our wonderful experience started at the airport where Chema picked us up.
While getting to Pasajcap he gave us a history of Guatemala as well as political insides.
We arrived to the property already in a dark but were absolutely stricken by the breathtaking views from the wide glass windows. The rest of our 7 days stay was as wonderful as the first impression. Our room was everything and more from what we saw on the website pictures. The kitchen was fully stacked with everything necessary to cook (and we did cook dinners every night).
The landscape of the property is also amazing. The nicely laid out stone staircase lead directly to the dock where lancha pick you up every 30 minutes. Domingo was very kind and informative as well as Diego who was always around to help. Overall our experience at Pasajcap was 110% satisfaction.

The accommodations far surpassed what we expected to find, the staff was kind and helpful, and the view was excellent. The bird-watching from our window was excellent, with grackles, tanagers, and other species we'd never seen before. We enjoyed all the little perks arranged by the friendly and competent staff, such as fresh fish and local produce delivery, and helpful directions for getting around the San Marcos area. It is difficult to convey the majestic views, the sense of peace and tranquility, the friendliness and generosity of the people who work here.
I spent one month looking across the lake to Vulcan San Pedro from a room with glass windows from nearly the floor to ceiling, which open almost completely, providing a sense of being a part of the beauty around me. We stayed a month in Feb.2011. To wake up to the view across the lake to volcano San Pedro is like heaven. The temperature (important to Canadians in Feb.) was near perfect. Warm, sunny days and cool nights. Pierre and the staff are first class, helpful, very friendly and patient. What can I say that has not been said thousands of times?
Right from my initial email contact, until I climbed in a van headed back to Guatemala City. Pierre was (and is) the consummate “hotelier”!
Yes the views are stunning and the apartments are meticulously designed; but it is the people who work so diligently at Pasajcap that makes your stay so memorable. Nothing beats a friendly smile and ”como estas” when you can’t find the keys for the gate (or have simply given up looking). You know that the same friendly smile, greeting, and help with your “fumbling dilemma” will be forthcoming “manana” . To return to my original point, your needs and interests will largely dictate your length of stay at Pasajcap; but don’t discount the dictates of the welcoming ambience of Pasajcap itself!

Pasaj-Cap was perfect for us: serene and delightful in a wonderful setting.
The birds sing in the morning and the stars shine at night, there is plenty of privacy as well as common areas to enjoy the good company of others. There are great spaces with mesmerizing vistas and ready access to area towns and villages. Gracious staff. Friendly dogs attentive to the property.
Our apartment had a sweeping, open plan with beautiful, clean lines, concrete floors (from which heat of the day radiates into the cool evenings), crisp white walls, and wood accents adding warmth. Huge sliding windows open inside to out and make San Pedro volcano seem nearly close enough to touch, and with the beautiful weather we enjoyed, these windows were open all the time. Great day lighting throughout with glas ceiling panels, clerestory windows to bring light further back into the space, and playful translucent slot windows for diffuse lighting. Good kitchen - well equipped and smartly situated. Bathroom is spacious and tastefully designed (you can even see the volcano fromthe shower!). Excellent private ranchos to laze in the hammock, bask in the sun, or pass a daywatching the boats and sun cross the lake. An idyllic place to write and relax and even get a little bit of work done if needed.
Fantastic sauna! Follow it with a jump in the cool lake. You must take advantage if you get a chance. We did not have a fire in the fireplace but it seems like a pleasant amenity.
Easy boat access to all villages around the lake. Tuk-tuk ride to San Marcos is likewise.
Pierre is a great host - inviting, knowledgeable, personable, and allowing just the right amount of space. Pierre has built a dream come true and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
In sum, an excellent value for a week's stay. |

I love the open apartment with the big picture window overlooking the lake Atitlan and San Pedro volcano. Pierre and his workers (and his dogs!) are all very welcoming and hospitable. This is the perfect place to come relax or to have a base to tour other villages around the lake. I hope I am lucky enough to return someday.
PS: Thanks for dinner and the hospitality! |

When booking this property, I kept thinking the pictures were too good to be true--and I found that this apartment was better than imagined. My husband and I stayed for 1 week and would like to return as soon as we can for a longer stay. The staff, owner and fellow guests all made us feel very welcomed. We felt and appreciated that the property is special.
There is a short walk into San Marcos where we took Spanish lessons in the morning and convenient boats to visit the other villages around Lake Atitlan. We enjoyed going into San Pedro for their markets and restaurants and Hiking from San Juan to the (Indian) Nose. |

One couldn’t ask for more in such a magical place.
Words and pictures could never describe the energy and tranquility of staying in a place like this. Pierre has been able to create the unimaginable. He is very professional and hospitable always there when you are in need of something. All the workers here are genuinely kind and gracious, wanting you to have the most enjoyable time possible. There is something very special here that one should experience. I can’t wait until I return to the wonderful Pasajcap. |

My husband and I spent one week of our honeymoon at Pasaj Cap, and loved it. The apartment was well kept and well stocked, and the setting was gorgeous. We both enjoyed lounging in the hammock in our apartment as well as those around the property. The staff was friendly, attentive and very patient with our limited Spanish skills. We took the local water taxis to Panajachel nearly every day - a quick and always entertaining process.
Pierre was very thorough in the booking process, responding to my every query. We have plans to return to Lake Atitlan and Pasaj Cap one day - hopefully with friends and the intention to study Spanish. |

All it took was a picture of the view from the guest rooms to see why
Pasajcap was worth the stay.
The rooms are beautiful and we passed many hours in the hammocks gazing out at the lake and volcanoes. If we come back we will definitely stay here again.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Pierre was on hand to make sure our needs and questions were taken care of. Domingo and Diego were very friendly and helpful.
The grounds were clean and well kept.
Thank you Pierre for all your help. We (4 from NY and 1 from SF) have a great time during our one week stay here. |

This is an amazing location, suitable for romance, adventure, relaxation, and much more. For us it was truly a remarkable escape from the modern world and into the most unique nature experience we’ve ever found—without sacrificing any of the comforts of modern life (except TV & phone which we were eager to give up). We found romance everywhere we went… nature, breathtaking panoramic views, relaxation, you too will find it everywhere, indoors and out. The owner has thought of every detail to make your stay an unforgettable one… from private hammocks indoors and out… to unobstructed views of the two amazing volcanoes and the beautiful Lake Atitlan. Privately tucked deep within the mountain, finding the house was an adventure full of treacherous curves that we will never forget. However, when we finally stepped foot on the beautifully manicured grounds with wonderful trees, and flowers, overlooking the lake and volcanoes, with a private dock where all the boat taxi/shuttles stop, we knew we had found a little piece of heaven on earth. Equally pleasing as the location is the architecture and warmth of the suite. At sunrise you will awake to the amazing low lying clouds that will tempt you to want to reach for them. The villagers are kind and welcoming; spending time in any of the surrounding villages is an excellent way to connect with an ever so tranquil and serene way of life.
The owner and his staff are very attentive and friendly. They go out of their way to make sure that you are pleased and enjoying your stay.
The hardest thing about our stay at Pierre’s place was leaving. This miraculous place is as ideal for a romantic getaway as it is for a large group of friends looking for adventure (hiking, kayaking, etc.) or for a family reunion, or even a small wedding ceremony. It was just the two of us this time around, but we look forward to bringing our three daughters on our next trip.

Wow! What a fantastic vacation spot!!!
The location is the most perfect on the lake. Close to amenities in San Marcos ( A five minutes boat ride or 15 minutes walk) where one can even find wine and Camenbert, yet secluded and peaceful. Pierre and his staff, especially Diego and Domingo create a very caring and attentive experience for their guests. One month wasn’t long enough !!! As far as for suggestions not much. May be screening on the windows so that we could enjoy opening them more. Better pillows and perhaps local textile bedcovers? A small path to the great big tree below would be a nice addition to emphasize the beauty of such a tree . Thanks Pierre for creating a perfectly designed vacation place. We will be back! Fantastico! The stay at Pierre was amazing!
The architecture is beautiful done, with a lot of care in details and done with beautiful material. One of our favorite part was the shower …The shower with the lake view.! And the windows opening up to create and indoor /Outdoor living. We spent three and half weeks here working in the morning and exploring the villages in the afternoon, and Pierre’s apartment was an ideal place. The view is magnificent and the staff Domingo and Diego as well as Pierre was so helpful in making our stay absolutely wonderful. Thank you for the beautiful experience! It won’t be our last visit! |

I had a wonderful time at Pasajcap. Firstly, there is the lake. The most refreshing swimming experience I ever had. Then the landscape, sublime and quietly shifting from sunrise to sunset. Even at night, a lightning storm is just as beautiful as the millions of stars that fill the sky. Then there’s the surrounding villages and towns, each with its own unique personality but full of beautiful, friendly people and rich in history and culture. Then there’s the accommodations, meeting every need.
And finally there’s Pierre a most gracious and sincere host.
Thank you Pierre for a wonderful stay. |

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pasajcap’s. Everything we needed was supplied. The staff is friendly and willing to help.
Cannot say enough about the spectacular views, the peaceful atmosphere, flowers and birds. The lay-out of the apartment is very functional and with the large sliding windows you could feel like you are living outdoors.
We also appreciated the security of the compound. Thank you for your memorable stay. We hope to be back. |

Pierre, I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. It had everything that we wanted or needed. Our apartment , with the fantastic windows +view was a joy to be in. Our two months went too fast. We will be missing our daily swim. We are planning to come back and hope you are still here. |

Even with the impressive photos and descriptions posted on the website, Pasajcap exceeded our expectations. Pierre the most cordial owner and architect of this property has achieved creating a complex of six apartments , all beautiful , all somewhat different from each other , all very private and all with magnificent views of the lake and the mountains beyond. His staff are very efficient and friendly, without being intrusive. The property is located within ten minutes of San Marcos, itself a lovely community with a nice “vibe”. For us it is a little like “revealing a favorite fishing hole”. We plan to return and hope there will be avaibility for once the secret is out, this establishment will be very, very busy . |

Beautiful location. Breathtaking and close-up views of lake Atitlan and the volcanoes. What a sight to wake up to every morning! My apartment was clean, bright ,well appointed and secure. Attentive staff. Can’t think of anything that would have made my stay more pleasant. May be a couple of kayaks would be a nice addition. |

I recently had the pleasure to stay at Pasaj Cap from Sept. 09 thru Jan 10. I rented the apartment site unseen from the website and can say in hind site that it was a great decision. I showed up in the middle of the night with 2 pugs in tow and was greeted by Diego - who helped me settle into my apartment (he also hauled my 2 large dog crates and 2 large plastic tubs with all of my worldly belongings). From there, things only got better - from Domingo who was always watching out for me and all of the other guys who were my constant companions. I very much appreciated their kind gestures of tending to my wants and needs. Especially to Diego for opening my coconuts with his big machete! A million thanks. And a special thanks to the girls who kept my apartment nice and tidy - that was a huge task because I shared my apartment with 2 pugs who shed a lot!
And lastly to Pierre - he truly is the "host with the most"! Whatever I needed - I asked Pierre and he made it happen. Currently I am next door in Honduras - serving in the Peace Corps and can't wait to return to my beloved Guatemala and once again return to Pasaj Cap. |

My husband and I spent a week here November 2008 and are now considering retiring on Lake Atitlan. Pierre was responsive in booking and even had to come guide us to the gate. If you drive plan on arriving by daylight as the roads are rough and hard to negotiate. The apartments are new with the scent of the local mesquite from the furnishings and cabinets. Each has enormous picture windows that you can slide open to hear the lapping of the Lake not far below. The view is breathtaking. We used the well equipped kitchen for breakfast and many dinners and enjoyed the view from the dining room table. Pierre advised us on our trips around the Lake and to both Antigua and Chichi. Though we did rent a car, you can get around by launcha/boat to places on the Lake and can take a bus, or private car, to Guatemala City from Panajachel.

Review Title : 338410 - "Beautiful tranquil location"
"My wife and I spent a month in one of the apts this year ... the entire stay was memorable and worth repeating. The apts are clean, fresh, and each one has spectacular views of the lake and volcanoes. Each one is outfitted with everything you need to make it home. Swimming off the dock in the crystal clear lake is refreshing.
Choose these accommodations if you want peace and rural tranquility, not nightlife. The apartments are about a 15 min walk to San Marcos village over a dirt road. There is easy and frequent access to other lakeside towns by boat -- just flag them down as they meander along the coast.
Best of all: the owner Pierre is a gracious and warm host |
